Finally in Paris!
I'm so glad we're finally in Paris! I'm so ready to just hit the sack...but not before I write a few words to all you friends and family about our trip thus far! We made it to PAris but just barely! We left Winnipeg about an hour late but due to some stormy weather in Minneapolis our connecting flight to Detroit was also delayed. This delay however brought us into Detroit precisely at 7:05p.m. right when our flight to Amsterdam was due to leave. So Christine and booked it through the terminal to our gate and just barely made it onto the plane. Unfortunately our checked baggage was not so lucky so it's still sitting in Detroit as we speak. It sucks to not have all our luggage with us but I think it may turn out to be a perk, we didn't have to drag all our stuff through the train stations on our way here...Northwest airlines will be delivering our bags to us here at the hostel! I think we've both got enough in our carry-ons to carry us over until our bags get delivered so I think we're going to be fine until they get here! I'm just crossing my fingers in hope that they will get here tomorrow!! Anyway, tomorrow Christine and I are off to see the City so I think we both need a little rest! Hope everyone is doing well!

It's Finally Time To Go!
So, here I am 3 days before our departure for Europe feeling overwhelmed at the next 4 1/2 months spread before me. It's a long time to travel and a lot to plan for! I have tried to do a lot of planning because I'm the kind of person who likes to have everything mapped out and organized before I go anywhere. At this point however I think it's pretty much impossible to do that for this trip! It makes me nervous, but I think in a way it's a good thing. It'll give me a chance to be a little more spontaneous and maybe live life more in the moment! I've been dreaming about this trip for so long that I'm excited to get this trip underway and to immerse myself in the history, people and culture of this amazing continent that my ancestors called home. I'll be spending some quality time with my little sister Christine as we travel along, get to visit some relatives in Germany, meet up with friends and hopefully make some new ones as well! We're going to see castles, mountains, museums, beaches and everything in between so I think I'm going to enjoy taking the long way around!
